TALK. is an ongoing photography project which I started in March 2023, in an effort to kickstart a wider conversation around Men's Mental Health. I've suffered with depression and anxiety since I was around 16, but it's not until relatively recently that I've started to talk about it and realised how beneficial it can be.
My aim for the project is to photograph men from all different age groups and backgrounds, and hear about their own personal mental health journeys - how they've coped, who they're turned to, who they've spoken to. By sharing these stories, hopefully together we can get more men talking!
Although it's still in its early stages, the project has already had an impact on me in a way which I could never have imagined. It has introduced me to some truly inspirational people from all walks of life. Speaking with them has been a really cathartic process, and one which is definitely helping me on my own mental health journey. Peer support is such an important tool - there's so much we can learn from each other. The stories from peer support services like Men Matter Scotland & Andy's Man Club are a real testament to this!
I'm always looking for new people to photograph. If you'd like to be a part of the project, fill in the form below or drop me a message via Instagram
It's time to TALK.
